Activities of Europe for Citizenship
Project activities
The project is primarily addressed to young (mainly university students), who are the future rulers and actors of the European growth. At present, little awareness of the European project and a consequent poor engagement of the young population in its development is acknowledged (ie: the low percentage of voters in the European Parliament elections). Therefore, an urgent action is called to reinforce the feeling of young to belonging to a European identity, by launching reflections and interactions on how, within the European citizenship, a more socially and democratically responsible content can be built and promoted to re-launch Europe among the citizens. Youth is the primary motor of change and the category more easily enthralled by new ideals.
Other indirect target groups will be volunteers, parents, immigrants, responsible of social associations, that will be involved in the process of identification of the founding elements of a “responsible citizenship”, through their opinions, bringing about their experiences of social engagement, etc. within debates with the young students.
