ARCES, a non-profit organization established as a moral entity (D.P.R. No. 713 of 22.09.1976), is a LEGALLY RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF MERIT by the Ministry of Education, University, and Research (D.P.C.M. of November 19, 1991).

University Colleges of Merit are private legal institutions that perform functions of public interest. They are recognized as centers of excellence supporting universities not only in terms of residential services (housing and meals) but, above all, for their educational project, which follows an interdisciplinary model and provides supplementary interventions and academic support, contributing to students’ cultural development and professional and personal growth.

All this takes place in high-quality facilities that ensure excellent living conditions for resident students, with functional spaces dedicated to studying, leisure, and personal interests. This educational proposal is realized through the numerous initiatives promoted by ARCES’ individual facilities (Alcantara, RUME, and Segesta University Residences, Alta Scuola, Employment Agency, Orientation Center, European Programs Area, and the CALAROSSA International Center).

University Colleges of Merit recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Education, University, and Research have been grouped since 1995 in a conference (CCUM – Conference of University Colleges of Merit). This includes 14 managing entities operating 56 University Colleges across the country, hosting over 4,350 students each year.

Furthermore, in 2008, the EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CONFERENCE (EUCA – European University College Association) was established, based in Brussels. It brings together 30,000 students and 194 Colleges in 10 countries.
